As a life-long resident of Mississauga, I have a great love for our city. Growing up here with my family, I have much to be thankful for. We found support and programs in Mississauga for my twin sister who had cerebral palsy. When my mother was diagnosed with terminal melanoma, she received exceptional treatment at Credit Valley Hospital where she was taken care of with dignity and respect. Now, it's my turn to give back to our community that has taken such good care of my family.
But in our community, like many GTA communities, we’re experiencing an exponential increase in the cost of living. From unaffordable food and fuel prices to skyrocketing housing costs, many of us are struggling to get by.
That’s why I’m running to be the Member of Parliament for Mississauga-Lakeshore with Jagmeet Singh and the NDP. I know that only the NDP has the proven track record of fighting to make communities like ours more livable and affordable. As a Constituency Assistant to a Member of Provincial Parliament, I saw firsthand the need for universal dental and drug coverage, real action on climate change and expanding public transit – issues that Jagmeet Singh and the NDP are fighting for and delivering on.
I hope to connect with you at the door or on the phone in the weeks ahead. When I’m not campaigning, you will see me roller blading around City Centre, launching my kayak off the shore in Port Credit, hiking Rattray Marsh Conservation Area or Riverwood Conservancy, and always exploring new places to eat all around Mississauga.
